Jeff Stalnaker, CPIA

Jeffrey D. Stalnaker joined Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., in 2001. Jeff started as CSR in 2001 was promoted to Vice President in 2007. He became Owner/President on June 1, 2018. He is an Elkins native and takes pride in community activities. Jeff graduated from Elkins High School and attended Davis & Elkins College as a business administration major. Since becoming an agent, he has attended various insurance training programs as well as Erie Agents College. He currently holds designation of Certified Professional Insurance Agent(CPIA). Jeff is a licensed agent for personal and commercial lines as well as life and health insurance. He resides in Randolph County with his wife, Gladys. They have two sons, Matthew and Christopher.

Matthew Stalnaker, CISR, CPIA

Matthew J. Stalnaker joined the staff at Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., in 2010 as an It technician and Web Designer.  Matthew is licensed in property and casualty insurance and life and health insurance. Matthew attends numerous insurance classes each year and currently holds designations of Certified Insurance Service Representative(CISR) and Certified Professional Insurance Agent(CPIA). He became the Vice President in June of 2018. In 2016 Matthew was awarded Outstanding Customer Service Representative for the State of West Virginia.

Matthew graduated from Davis & Elkins College in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. While attending D&E College, he participated in several activities, such as the Charleston Alliance Micro-farm build in West Charleston, the garlic mustard pull in Seneca Rocks, red spruce tree planting in Canaan Valley, and the Mother Earth news conference in Seven Springs, Pa., among others. Matthew became an Eagle Scout in April 2010 in the Elkins BSA Troop 88. For his Eagle Scout project, he raised more than $3,000 for the Randolph County Humane Society and assisted with minor renovations.

As an employee of Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., he has participated in activities such as the Strawberry Festival and Forest Festival parades, Christmas parades, and Relay For Life of Randolph County. He enjoys volunteering with local organizations and events such as the Izaak Walton League of America: Mountaineer Chapter, Randolph County Humane Society, Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs, Relay For Life, and others.

Shelly Kerns

Shelly joined the staff of Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., in 2007. She has a diploma from Lincoln High School, attended Insurance Schools of West Virginia, Inc., and has completed classes in all phases of insurance through Erie Agents College. Shelly is an agent who is licensed in property and casualty insurance and life and health insurance.  She is eager to assist clients with their insurance needs. Prior to beginning her career in the insurance industry, Shelly had more than 10 years of experience in management with Burger King in Elkins. She resides in Barbour County with her husband, Tim. They have three sons and one granddaughter.

Amanda joined the staff of Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., in 2018. She is licensed in property and casualty, and life and health. Amanda brings a friendly smile and readiness to help anyone. Amanda currently resides in Randolph County with her two sons.

Christopher started working in 2016. He assists other employees as necessary and fills in for receptionists when needed. Christopher graduated Elkins High School in 2019. He is currently attending Davis & Elkins College. Upon graduation, Christopher is planning on becoming an agent.

Lindsay L. Ketterman joined the staff at Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., In 2023. Lindsay Is licensed in property and casualty insurance as well as life and health insurance. Lindsay resides in Bowden with her husband and their two children. Lindsay’s favorite part of her Job is providing customers with peace of mind by making sure all their insurance needs are met.

Ellen Streets

F. Ellen Streets started her career in the insurance industry in October 1970. She established Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., on Oct. 1, 1983. She is a native of Pocahontas County and graduated from Marlinton High School. She has attended numerous insurance schools each year and currently holds designations of Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow, Certified Professional Insurance Woman, and Certified Insurance Counselor. Ellen has been listed in several editions of the National Directory of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals and Who’s Who of Women of the World. She was a 2016 inductee into the VIP woman of the year circle by the National Association of Professional Women.

Prior to starting her insurance career, Ellen served in the Women’s Army Corps for three years. From 1981 to 1991, she served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal in 1988. She is active in her church and community activities, and supports various local charities. Through the agency, she has participated in Randolph County Relay For Life, Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs, the Forest Festival parade in Elkins, the Strawberry Festival parade in Buckhannon, the Barbour County Fair parade, and other events. The agency supports 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other youth programs.
